Can a debt collector contact my spouse to try and collect for a debt in my name only?
I have a debt outstanding to Double Day Bookclub- they turned this over to a collection agence, who then called my house and outlined the situation, right down to the payments I’d made with my husband. The debt is in my name, not his. Is this legal? I reside in the state of Oregon.
community property, his half, your half stand for debts you both have. I got your upset, please don’t spend your energy on this, concentrate of just paying the dumb thing off. Good luck
